Sustained release (5-7 hours)
Dihydroberberine SR 150mg is ideal for men and women who want an effective nutritional therapy for glucose balance, lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health that is both well-tolerated and convenient. Formulated to complement doctor-recommended diet and lifestyle changes.*
Dihydroberberine SR 150mg is a sustained-release dietary supplement featuring GlucoVantage® dihydroberberine, a highly bioavailable form of berberine. Once absorbed by the intestine, dihydroberberine rapidly converts to berberine in the blood.(1)
Berberine has been widely studied in pre-clinical and clinical studies. It’s ability to positively affect glucose balance, lipid metabolism and blood vessel health is attributed to multiple actions. For example:
As a highly bioavailable form of berberine, Dihydroberberine SR may help maintain healthy blood glucose and lipid levels in the normal range while supporting vascular health.*
What can you expect?
Dihydroberberine SR provides targeted nutritional support for glucose balance, lipid metabolism and cardiovascular health.*
How does it work?
Dihydroberberine SR is a sustained-release dietary supplement. By using a proprietary vegetable wax matrix core, each tablet delivers 150mg of highly bioavailable GlucoVantage® dihydroberberine with a steady release over 5 to 7 hours.*
How do you take it?
As a dietary supplement for adults, take one (1) tablet, twice daily with food, or as directed by a healthcare professional.
What are the inactive ingredients?
The inactive ingredients include: Vegetable wax (rice bran and/or carnauba), isomalt (vegetable), stearic acid (vegetable), magnesium stearate (vegetable), and silica.
How does dihydroberberine overcome absorption challenges of berberine?
Researchers attribute the superior absorption of dihydroberberine to two key pathways (see Figure). In Pathway 1, berberine is slowly absorbed, but a carrier protein (P-glycoprotein) shuttles some of it back into the intestine. In Pathway 2, gut bacteria that produce nitroreductases (NTR) can convert berberine into the more absorbable dihydroberberine form. However, this pathway is limited in people who lack an adequate amount of NTR-producing gut bacteria. Dihydroberberine overcomes both of these absorption challenges. In one comparison study, absorption was found to be almost 5 times higher than berberine absorption and, once absorbed, dihydroberberine is rapidly oxidized into berberine in blood.(1)
Are there any precautions?
Consult your healthcare professional prior to use if you have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications. Do not use without the advice of your physician if you have diabetes or a related condition as dihydroberberine may lower blood sugar. Do not use if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or nursing.
What product quality control tests are performed?
Dihydroberberine SR is manufactured in the United States (Oregon) in a state-of-the-art, FDA-registered facility that meets or exceeds current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP). Quality control tests are performed at every stage of the manufacturing process from rigorous raw material testing to finished product testing.
